Meet Brian | Partner & General Manager
Originally from Massachusetts, Brian relocated to Florida in 1991 and has spent more than three decades building a career in hospitality. Throughout his journey, he has held leadership and ownership roles at several successful local establishments, including The Beach Club Siesta Key, Legends Sports Pub, Smokin’ Joe’s, The Old Venice Pub, and Rainmaker Amusements. During his time as General Manager of The Beach Club, he helped expand the local music scene by introducing Southwest Florida audiences to emerging bands, many of which went on to achieve national success.
Since Smokin’ Joe’s opened on June 30, 2005, Brian has played an integral role in shaping the business, guiding its growth and evolution as General Manager and Partner. He also served as a Senior Officer with Linksters Management, helping launch and expand multiple Linksters Taproom and PaddyWagon Irish Pub locations throughout the Tampa Bay and Central Florida regions. Combining his hospitality expertise with a strong technical background, Brian has also overseen the design and installation of everything from sound systems and security equipment to POS systems, televisions, and large-scale video displays.
For Brian, hospitality has never been just a job. It’s a lifelong passion built on creating memorable experiences, bringing people together, and helping shape the places that become part of their community. After decades in the industry, that passion continues to drive everything he does at Joe’s.
Meet LJ
A Florida native, LJ has been part of the Joe’s on Main family for 15 years. His nickname, short for “Little John,” came from a running theme throughout his bartending career: there always seems to be a “Big John” wherever he works!
When he’s not at Joe’s, LJ enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, and family, and hopes to find more time to get out fishing.
LJ is one of those rare people who genuinely loves coming to work, and it’s easy to see why. The people at Joe’s have become an extension of his own family. He also credits Brian as a mentor who has taught him not only much of what he knows about the business, but valuable lessons about life. After 15 years, LJ’s loyalty, appreciation, and love for the Joe’s family remain at the heart of who he is.
Meet Jami!
Born in Milwaukee and raised in Sarasota, Jami began her bartending career in 2010 at Gecko’s before spending years at Linkster’s Tap Room and Joe’s on Main. After taking time away to raise her son, she found her way back to the place that has always felt like a second home.
For Jami, Joe’s is more than a bar. It’s a place where people from all walks of life come together, where regulars become family, and where a little laughter can make the outside world feel a little lighter. After nearly a decade behind the bar, her connection to Joe’s and the people who make it special remains at the heart of what she does.
Meet Coco!
Originally from California, Coco has called Joe’s on Main home for the past seven years. Beyond being a familiar face behind the bar, she’s a proud mom, daughter, and friend who treasures the connections she makes with the people around her.
For Coco, the best part of what she does is the people. From meaningful conversations and lasting friendships to the memories made and new faces welcomed along the way, every interaction has helped shape her journey. She feels incredibly fortunate to love what she does and is forever grateful to be part of the Joe’s family. 🥂
Meet Promise!
A Sarasota native, Promise has been part of the Joe’s on Main family for the past 3–4 years and loves an environment where every day brings something new. She thrives in the chaos and enjoys learning from the people she meets along the way.
When she’s not behind the bar, you’ll find her enjoying the beach day or night, cooking, watching movies, diving into a good book, or trying something new, like a painting class. For Promise, what makes Joe’s special is that no two nights are ever the same. Every seat holds a story, from new love and lasting friendships to moments when someone simply needs a place to feel at home.
Meet Jayci!
A Florida native with nine years of bartending experience, Jayci has worked her way from the Key to downtown and has been part of the Joe’s on Main family for the past two years. When she’s not behind the bar, she’s enjoying beach days, time with friends and family, and listening to her favorite artists, Morgan Wallen and Ella Langley.
As a proud mom, Jayci loves connecting with people and has a knack for matching the vibe. Whether you come in looking for a good laugh or need a shoulder to lean on, she’s your girl! She also hopes to one day turn her passion for bartending into a mobile bar venture of her own.
Meet Jeremy!
Originally from Virginia, Jeremy moved to be closer to family and joined the Joe’s on Main team a year ago. With over 10 years of bartending experience, he genuinely enjoys working alongside Brian and LJ and being part of the Joe’s family.
Outside of Joe’s, Jeremy is a man of many interests. He enjoys riding motorcycles, playing pool (and has even competed in a league), and creating electronic music. A former traditional DJ who spun real vinyl records, he’s carried his passion for music into making it himself. He’s also a hands-on problem solver who loves fixing things around the house and enjoys carpentry. And if there’s one thing guaranteed to win him over, it’s a dog!
Meet Chris:
Born in Wisconsin, raised in Minnesota, and having spent time in Texas, Chris eventually made his way to Sarasota in 2021. A self-proclaimed cheesehead, he brings a unique background to the Joe’s on Main crew, with experience as a financial and data analyst across several industries.
Outside of Joe’s, Chris enjoys gym days, pool and beach days, golf, traveling (he’s visited 34 states!), and building computers and tinkering with electronics. He may not have a favorite song, but around town, he’s known for his Eminem karaoke performances under the stage name “AlmostSlimShady.” Whether he’s exploring a new destination or grabbing the mic for karaoke, Chris is always up for trying something new!
